9/2/2023 0 Comments Amaya jiwe village![]() What did you guys think about the episode? Make sure to leave your thoughts down below! Poor Nora…if only she had walked away with Zari and Ray in Jitters. With how scary Mallus has been built-up and shown to be, I can’t lie and say that I didn’t get chills when he started to burst out of Nora. Legends delivered a powerful episode that gave more weight to the Darhk’s, and Amaya’s desperation to save her people-loophole or not. This further goes to show just how terrible Rip Hunter is, and makes me question why he was ever the emotional lynchpin of the first season. Learning that she was actually the twelfth Ava in her position was a harrowing, and truly messed up revelation. However, it has done wonders in further fleshing out Ava, and really helping her come into her own character. Now as I mentioned last week, Ava’s surprise origin story really had no impact on the immediate plot. The show could also try to angle him to continue on the show as more of a hit-and-miss accomplice. My guess would be that he will sacrifice himself to both save the Legends, and avenge the destruction of his daughter by being the one to personally destroy Mallus. Clearly, the most likely path here is one towards redemption of some kind. Another great moment in particular was his heart to heart with Sara as he opened up to the woman who had tried to kill him countless times.ĭamien certainly seems like a changed man after having gone through the emotional turmoil of his daughter’s struggle, and rediscovering that kinder aspect of himself. It was heartbreaking seeing this entirely new side to him as he all but begged for Nora to be okay-and all he got in return was Mallus’ sneering grin through the shell of Nora. Honestly this episode gave us our most humanized side of the character ever, and it was fantastic to witness. His antics last week were incredibly entertaining and funny, but here those antics turned into a serious effort to save his daughter no matter the costs. I did enjoy that the show completely switched gears and expectations, and instead of trying to stop it, they realized that saving the village was the anachronism that they needed to actually be able to fight and destroy Mallus.īrandon Routh as Ray Palmer/Atom (left) and Neal McDonough as Damien Darhk (right). Even Wally was constantly on her about Flashpoint, and how poorly that went. You’d think that after all of her time on the team, she’d truly understand the consequences of changing the timeline. ![]() So I will be a little put off if the village still ends up being wiped out.Īs for Amaya, her choices were certainly on the reckless side of things. He was very quickly dispatched in the beginning-and theoretically should be just as easy to shrink before destroying Zambesi. Now I’m always happy to see more Grodd, but I do wish he was more present in the plot. Amaya went rogue in an attempt to save her village, and Grodd went after Barack Obama. With time nearly about to crack, and Mallus nearing his true form, the Legends had a lot to deal with. Nora and Mallus were center stage this week. On top of that, they even went back in time to 1999 to the set of Lord of the Rings to get John Noble’s voice to trick Nora, which was a hoot. They hear uncanny similarity in Denethor’s voice to that of Mallus’. ![]() ![]() In looking for a way to duplicate Mallus’ voice (voiced by John Noble), the team overhears Mick watching Lord of the Rings. I have been wondering for the longest time why in the world this episode was titled “Guest Starring John Noble.” The payoff to that question was fantastic, and had me laughing due to its meta cleverness.
